We went out to a dark sky site tonight with camera and tripod. And took a few snaps. It was by the Ramsbury Ale shed just outside Ramsbury. 51.45858,-1.654708 (The Moon pic below was taken earlier back home) All the shots below are single 20 or 30sec exposures. Excuse the power cables.
This image, the first to be released publicly from VISTA, the world’s largest survey telescope, shows the spectacular star-forming region known as the Flame Nebula, or NGC 2024, in the constellation of Orion. Slightly tweaked by me in CS4. Credit ESO
