Dark sky site.

We went out to a dark sky site tonight with camera and tripod. And took a few snaps.
It was by the Ramsbury Ale shed just outside Ramsbury.

Horsehead & Flame nebula in IR.

This image, the first to be released publicly from VISTA, the world’s largest survey telescope, shows the spectacular star-forming region known as the Flame Nebula, or NGC 2024, in the constellation of Orion.
Slightly tweaked by me in CS4.
