New HDR sharpening techinique

Well new to me.
I tried it out on an old mosaic that I took of Clavius last year, about this time!

Bit misty tonight and it got worse, but it's nice to get out and image.

The Times Atlas of the Moon... bargain.

Found this today in an old book shop in Wantage for £3.50. The Times atlas of the Moon... bargain (do a search on the net).

It is in fact a reduced-scale and bound reprint of the Lunar Aeronautical Charts produced by the UCAC in the 1960's.

Just a very quick imaging session tonight. The seeing wasn't up to much... and I'm recovering from a bad cold, so I didn't want to be sitting in the cold for too long :-)

SKYnyx 2-0M with IR filter, 3 x TV barlow. Processed in Registax and CS4.

Here's one from last night. The seeing was really good when I started :-) But the transparency deteriorated quickly later :-( So I had to push the camera and picked a load of grain in the process & processing ;-(

Going through some of my old files, I found this Clavius from last year that I've never processed.

Below is an image taken from NASA's "World Wind" of a view just over the horizon.
I love that crater in the middle top; Drygalski, also visible in my image right on the top horizon.

Clavius from 2nd Sept 2007 re-processed with CS3

Here's one of my best Clavius images to date. Best 500 images stacked in Registax and mosaiced with CS3 Photomerge.

Some people prefer the so-say correct orientation, so here's two versions.

The lower version looks like the horizon is going into the distance underneath you, which is not very natural as far as I'm concerned ;-)

The seeing was really good tonight... and really bad, The jet stream was playing havoc with the focus, Completely blurred out at some points, but at other points crystal clear.
