Faint Jupiter moon.

I spent about half an hour observing Jupiter last night.
One thing I did notice was a very faint moon just underneath and indicated in this simulator image.
I can't for the life of me find what it was. It was very faint, serveral magnitudes below the brightness of the other moons. Could have been a star, but I don't think so.

Starlight Express CCD camera

I borrowed my friends Starlight Express MX5C CCD camera last night.
Wow! to use it is a whole new discipline.
Still... "Small steps".

Craters re-processed using MAP

Here are some craters from way back... I re-processed them using the MAP method of multi alignment points.
All images taken with the humble old ToUcam. We don't need no stinking firewire camera! well, we do actually, but I can't afford one just yet ;-)
See... this is why you need to backup your AVI's onto DVD.

Here's the first image from the 16th June sequence... see, it's still light at 9:20 PM. I took this in a perfect blue sky. And an image taken later.

This was taken using a 4 x Imagemate Barlow.

Jupiter 11th June 2006

This was taken with a ToUcam and a filter made out of a piece of exposed colour negative film (The black bit on the end of the reel). It Seems to bring some of the belts/bands in the middle a bit clearer. See this site.

Normal colour below.

Jupiter 10th June 2006

It's been very hot in the UK this past week. The only thing is... the seeing (for using a telescope) hasn't been very good at all. :-(

Moon various June 2006

Here are some Moon images taken in early June. The seeing wasn't very good on any of the days, hence the blurry look.
